12 Day North and South Island Tour

Day 1 - Auckland
Arrive Auckland. Your vehicle will be at the airport ready and waiting. Transfer to your first nights accommodation. Relax at one of the bars, café's or restaurants on the waterfront in the America's Cup Village.

Day 2 - Formosa Resort, Auckland
Today's round of golf in Auckland will be at the Formosa Country Club. This course was designed by Bob Charles and is an attractive coastal course with long and challenging holes amid a tropical background.
This afternoon is free time. You might like to take a trip on a harbour cruise, enjoy some sailing, kayaking, windsurfing or head along to Kelly Tarltons Underwater World.

Day 3 - Rotorua

This morning you will travel south through Auckland and on to Rotorua - the district with the most energetic thermal activity in the country. This afternoon is free to explore some of the great sightseeing options. You can choose from a variety of activities ranging from sightseeing at the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve and Maori Arts & Crafts Institute, relaxing in a thermal spa pool, kayaking, 4WD Bush Safari or White Water Rafting.

Day 4 - Rotorua Golf Club
This morning's round of golf is at the Rotorua Golf Club, locally known as Arikikapakapaka. Some of the hazards are hot pools of mud that bubble and gurgle while you play. The re-modelled firm greens make the course a great golfing challenge.

Tour Special: Tonight you can have dinner and enjoy a concert at the Tamaki Maori Village. This includes a visit to a local Maori Marae where you can see a replica of an authentic Maori village, here you can enjoy a traditional Hangi meal (cooked in an earth oven) and entertainment by a local Maori concert party. This cultural feast was recently rated the no. 1 Tourist attraction in New Zealand.

Day 5 - Wairakei International Golf Course, Taupo
This morning's one hour drive to Taupo will take you to the Wairakei International Golf Course for today's round. Rated in the top 20 Golf courses in the world outside the US by Golf Digest. This course is located in an unusual geothermal area, built on volcanic deposits with hot springs and geysers which add distinction and difficulty. Wairakei is a favourite on every tour.

Day 6 - Taupo/Queenstown
This morning is free to look around beautiful Lake Taupo. Taupo is the main resort town in the heart of the North Island and lies on Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake, itself a remnant of a massive volcanic explosion. Taupo caters for a range of tastes, from trout fishing to bungy jumping. This afternoon you will drive back to Rotorua to catch your flight down to Queenstown on the South Island

Day 7 - Millbrook Resort, Queenstown
Queenstown is nestled in what is surely one of the most scenic spots in the world and has a fabulous range of facilities, activities and nightlife. This morning you will play golf at Millbrook Resort Golf Course. The best way to describe the course is "18 holes of magic". Designed by internationally renowned professional golfer and former British Open winner Sir Bob Charles, Millbrook Resort's 18-hole par 72 championship course is an exceptional experience.

Day 8 - Milford Sound Cruise
Depart your hotel this morning and travel to Lake Te Anau in the Milford Sound. Here you can board a launch for a cruise on the Milford fiord. Observe towering peaks and tumbling waterfalls from the vessel and dolphins are often known to accompany the launch. Return to Queenstown by coach or scenic flight after the cruise arriving early evening.


Day 9 - Kelvin Heights, Queenstown
Bring your camera as well as your clubs today, for our visit to the scenically spectacular Kelvin Heights golf course. From every hole there is a majestic backdrop of snow capped mountains and crystal clear lake. The fifth hole "Shoreline" is one of the most photographed holes in golf. This is a must play golfing attraction. After golf enjoy free time to relax and enjoy the many activities that this region has to offer- bungy jumping, jetboat excursions, cruises on Lake Wakatipu, walking and excellent shopping facilities.

Day 10 - Queenstown/Mount Cook
Travel across the Canterbury Plains to the Mackenzie Country. This afternoon you could visit Mount Cook National Park and take a scenic flight from Lake Tekapo over Mount Cook and its glaciers. Mount Cook National Park has been incorporated in to a World Heritage area and has 27 mountains including Mount Cook - at 3755m is the highest peak in Australasia.

Day 11- Terrace Downs Resort, Christchurch
An early start today for your next golfing destination at the new Terrace Downs Country Club - you will discover an awesome backdrop to a truly challenging international-class golf course. Designed specifically to be one of New Zealand's best courses, Terrace Downs has already received accolades from around the country and the globe. After lunch, whilst in the area you can try your hand at fly fishing, salmon fishing, hot air ballooning, jet boating, mountain biking or horse riding. Of course you could sit back and soak up the inspirational views.

Day 12 - Clearwater Resort, Christchurch
This morning you will head to the Clearwater Resort in Christchurch. Clearwater is an oasis of lush, green parkland, rippling streams and crystal clear lakes. Another Bob Charles design, Clearwater (as the name would suggest) features water on most holes. The resort incorporates horse-riding trails, jogging tracks, walkways and fishing streams.


Day 13 - Christchurch
If you have free time before heading off to the airport you can meander around Cathedral Square - the heart of Christchurch centre for any last minute shopping or sightseeing; take a punting trip down the River Avon; ride on Christchurch tramway or take in the City's panoramic views from the gondola.
