11 Day South Island Tour
Day
1- Christchurch
Arrive Christchurch. Your vehicle will
be at the airport ready and waiting. You will drive to your
first night's accommodation.
Christchurch offers many opportunities for fresh and exciting
activities and attractions.
Day 2 - Terrace
Downs Resort
An
early start today to your first golfing destination, the new
Terrace Downs Country Resort and Golf Club. A fifty-minute
scenic drive from Christchurch in the shadow of the magnificent
Southern Alps and the Mount Hutt Ski Area. Terrace Downs is
nestled above the beautiful Rakaia River amongst spectacular
scenery. The resort facilities cover over 250 hectares, and
include a luxurious clubhouse, the golf course and health
spa. Terrace Downs has already been rated as one of the top
three courses in the country.
Day 3- Terrace
Downs/Mount Cook
Today
you will continue on to Mount Cook. Mount Cook National Park
has been incorporated in to a World Heritage area and has
27 mountains including Mount Cook - at 3755m it is the highest
peak in Australasia. Accommodation: Hermitage Hotel, Mount
Cook
This afternoon is free time. Maybe
you would like to experience the flight of a lifetime, the
"Grand Traverse" is a spectacular scenic flightseeing experience
allowing you to explore the Mount Cook and Westland National
Parks. View New Zealand's highest mountains, ice and snowfields,
including twelve major glaciers and fly over 200 kilometres
of breathtaking alpine scenery, from beautiful turquoise-blue,
glacier-fed lakes in the east, to great ice fields spilling
down through the West Coast rainforests into the Tasman Sea
below.

4 - Queenstown
This morning you will continue to
your next destination, Queenstown
Queenstown is nestled
in what is surely one of the most scenic spots in the world
and has a fabulous range of facilities, activities and nightlife.

5 - Millbrook Resort, Queenstown
"18
Holes of Magic" are the words to describe the Millbrook
Resort golf course. Designed by internationally renowned professional
golfer and former British Open winner Sir Bob Charles, Millbrook
Resort's par 72-championship course is a truly exceptional
experience. This afternoon is free time, maybe some kayaking
or a leisurely cruise on Lake Wakatipu.

6 - Kelvin Heights, Queenstown
Don't
forget your camera as well as your clubs today, for our visit
to the scenically spectacular Kelvin Heights golf course.
From every hole there is a majestic backdrop of snow capped
mountains and crystal clear lake. The fifth hole "Shoreline"
is one of the most photographed holes in world golf. This
is a must play golfing attraction. After golf enjoy free time
to relax or try the many activities that this region has to
offer- bungy jumping, jetboat excursions, white water rafting,
walking and excellent shopping facilities.
Day 7 - Balmacewen
Golf Club, Dunedin
You will head southeast this morning
to the Scottish influenced coastal town of Dunedin. An afternoon
game of golf on the excellent Balmacewen layout can be followed
by a visit to the clubhouse. Established in 1871 it is New
Zealand's oldest golf club. To Professional and Amateur alike,
the challenge of Balmacewen keeps players alert and interested
from the 1st tee to the 18th green; the fine scenery, the
native plants and bird life all contribute to a memorable
round of golf on this outstanding course.
Day
8 - Dunedin/Christchurch
This morning follow the coastline
north towards Christchurch. On the way stop at the seaside
town of Oamaru renowned for its fantastic stone buildings.
Here you can stop for lunch at the excellent Criterion Hotel

9 - Christchurch Golf Club, Shirley
Your next round of golf will be
at The Christchurch Golf Club at Shirley. This is one of New
Zealand's most prestigious and longest established clubs in
New Zealand. Christchurch Golf Club has hosted 13 NZ Opens
and is considered the Number 2 course in the country. An option
for this afternoon would be to visit the International Antarctic
Centre. Experience the real feeling of the Antarctic. The
Visitor Centre has been designed and developed to give visitors
a fun and entertaining experience of the frozen continent.
The centre has achieved the position as one of Australasia's
premier tourist attractions.
Day
10 - Clearwater Resort, Christchurch
The
Clearwater Resort is the city's first master planned golf
resort and integrated residential estate. Located less than
fifteen minutes drive from the central city, Clearwater is
an oasis of lush, green parkland, rippling streams and crystal
clear lakes. Central to the resort is a magnificent eighteen-hole
golf course designed in consultation with New Zealand golfing
legend Sir Bob Charles. This afternoon you could take a trip
around the Christchurch area and see some of its lovely sights.

11 - Christchurch
After a memorable golf tour of
New Zealand's South Island it's time to head home or do some
more touring. You can transfer to Christchurch International
Airport for your flight home or see some more of this amazing
country.
